Cargo throughput at the port of Singapore in January-June 2014 increased by 7.1% compared with the same period in 2013 to 289,19 million tonnes, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) said.
MPA reports that the half-year traffic volume includes 91.1 million tonnes of crude oil, a 9% gain on H12013 figures and 16.5 million TEUs of containerized cargo (+4.4%).
Singapore is a Southeast Asian island city-state. In 2013, total cargo throughput at the port Singapore reached 560.88 million tonnes and container traffic was 32.58 million TEUs.
