NCSP Group reports a 8% gain in general cargo segment to 6.02 million tonnes
Handling of general cargo by NCSP Group's terminals in January-June 2014 reached 5,021,000 tonnes, which represents an 8-percent growth on 1H2013 figures, the Group said in a news release.
The six-month growth in the segment was driven by a 9.4% gain in ferrous metals volumes that reached the mark of 4,931 tonnes.
Transshipment of imported vehicles at the terminal of OJSC Novorossiysk Shipyard amounted to 3,374 vehicles, very close to the June-Dec. 2013 figure.
NCSP Group is the largest Russian port operator in terms of cargo volumes. In 2013 the Group's total throughput hit the mark of 141 million tonnes. NCSP Group comprises PJSC NCSP, PJSC NCSP Fleet, OJSC Novoroslesexport, OJSC Novorossiysk Shipyard, PJSC Novorossiysk Grain Terminal, OJSC IPP, LLC Baltic Stevedoring Company, LLC Primorsk Trade Port, CJSC SFP, LLC Novorossiysk Fuel Oil Terminal.
