Kherson Shipyard launches railway ferry Slavyanin project CNF09 for Anship

On September 4, 2009, Kherson Shipyard (Ukraine) launched railway ferry Slavyanin project CNF09 (50 wagons) to be deployed for operation at port Kavkaz – port Varna (Bulgaria), Marine Engineering Bureau reports.
 
The railway ferry was ordered by the shipping company Anship operating 25-wagon ferries project 002CNF01 Petrovsk and Annenkov at port Kavkaz – port Crimea service and 45-wagon ferry project CNF06 Avangard at port Kavkaz – port Varna service.
 
The vessel has undergone conversion according to the norms developed by the Russian Maritime Registry of Shipping.
 
The vessel is designed for transportation of railway wagons and ro-ro equipment, hazardous cargo and over-size cargo. The length is 150.20 m, length between perpendiculars – 139.94 m, beam overall – 22.0 m, molded beam – 21.0 m, depth 8.00 market, deadweight – 6,258 t. The vessel can operate in shallow waters of port Kavkaz for Russia-EU and Russia-Armenia cargo transportation.
