BSF's diving school to receive modular S&R boat of project 23370 in late August (photos)
Sevastopol based diver training school of the Black Sea Fleet (part of the BSF's Joint Training Centre) is expected to take delivery in late August of the newest multifunctional search and rescue boat of 23370 project, the Ministry of Defense press office said.
This is the first multipurpose S&R modular boat of the fleet and features new capabilities for search and salvage operations by the Navy.
The waive-piercing boat is designed for underwater work and rescue operations within the coastal marine area, for training divers and salvage teams.
The boat's modules were delivered to Sevastopol by trucks and then assembled. Now the boat undergoes sea trials.
The search and emergency response service of the BSF plans to commission into service seven 23370-series modular S&R boats with its fleet by the end of 2014. Overall, the Black Sea Fleet rescuers will take delivery of 12 such class boats.
