Birkenhead-based contractor MPE Interiors has manufactured and fitted-out a new lorry drivers’ lounge for Stena Line’s Liverpool-to-Belfast freight driver’s lounge, the company said in its press release.
MPE Interiors works in three main sectors: commercial property, residential property and maritime. It can fit-out offices, shops, restaurants, hotels, homes, schools and leisure centres, ferries, ships and super-yachts.
Phil Taylor, MPE’s newly-appointed property specialist, said the drivers’ lounge at Stena Line’s 12 Quays terminal in Birkenhead highlighted MPE’s range of property services which had been completed on time and on budget.
He said: “This was a two-week project involving staff in our workshop and on location at the freight terminal. We manufactured and fitted bespoke fixtures and fittings include specially-curving TV cabinets, decorative pilasters, new lighting and a vending area.
“We also re-upholstered and cleaned furniture, while new vinyl flooring and carpeting featuring the Stena Line logo was also fitted.
“This is one of many works that MPE Interiors has done work for Stena Line’s terminals. It follows other contracts to fit-out Stena Line ferries. We’re determined to grow our ferry-related work further with Stena Line following this latest work.”
In previous contracts, MPE has refurbished passenger decks on one of Stena Line’s vessels operating between Holyhead and Dublin, and redeveloped the crew and officers’ mess areas on two passenger ferries covering the Liverpool (Birkenhead) to Belfast route.
For the latest drivers’ lounge contract, MPE had some support from two other Merseyside firms, Birkenhead-based Seaking Electrical and Liverpool flooring firm Durastic.
Mr Taylor, 59, is a property industry specialist with over 40 years’ experience. He joined MPE Interiors recently and will help drive its wide-ranging work on existing properties and new-build developments.
The Old Bidston Road-based company’s services include bespoke CAD-aided interior design, the manufacture and fitting of furniture, fittings and upholstery; craft joinery, decorating, property maintenance and repairs.
