Throughput of Ukrainian seaports up 7.4% to 91.3 mln t in Jan-Aug’14
In January-August 2014, seaports of Ukraine handled 91.3 mln t of cargo (+7.4%, year-on-year), says press center of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.
State stevedores under the Ministry of Infrastructure handled 31.994 mln t of cargo (35.1% of the total volume); Private stevedores through all berths handled 59.307 mln t (64.9% of the total volume) including 30.988 mln t handled by private stevedoring companies through the berths of USPA (33.9% of the total volume).
Transshipment of export cargo totaled 66.356 mln t (+15.9%), import – 9.750 mln t (-14.4%), transit – 14.388 mln t (- 4%), coastal trade cargo – 806,000 t (-43.3%).
Seaports’ container throughput totaled 449,332 TEUs (-11.4%, year-on-year).
