Throughput of Chinese ports up 4.7% to 7.38 bln t in Jan-Aug’14

In January-August 2014, the ports of China increased their throughput by 4.7%, year-on-year, to 7.38 bln t of cargo, says the Ministry of Transport of the Government of the People's Republic of China. In the accounting period seaports of China handled 5.13 bln t (+6%), river ports – 2.37 bln t (+7.3%).

Container throughput climbed by 5.6% to 131.56 mln TEUs including 118.44 mln TEUs in seaports (+6.6%) and 13.12 mln TEUs in river ports (-3%).
