Three terminals at the Port of Long Beach that had closed for the day shift Tuesday, Sept. 23, due to smoke from the fire at the neighboring Port of Los Angeles are reopening for the evening shift beginning at 6 p.m., Port of Long Beach said in its press release.
Firefighters have contained the blaze at L.A.’s Pasha facility that started on Monday night. Earlier Tuesday, However, smoke from that fire led terminals closest to the Port of Los Angeles, at Long Beach’s Pier T, Pier A and Pier F to close for the day shift today.
Through a mutual aid agreement, Long Beach Fire Department fireboats based in the Port of Long Beach have been assisting the Port of Los Angeles with fire suppression at Pasha.
