Makarov University to obtain of training course on energy efficiency of vessels from RS by year end
Training course on energy efficiency of vessels being developed by the specialists of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) for Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping is 90% ready and will be handed over to the University by the end of 2014, Pavel Shikhov, Deputy Director General of RS told IAA PortNews.
According to Pavel Shikhov, the course is dedicated to urgent issues of vessels’ energy efficiency.
“Cadets should know what the energy efficiency of vessels depends on and know the ropes to regulate it,” he underlined.
In late 2013, Russian Maritime Register of Shipping provided the University with the course on classification of vessels.
Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) is one of the world's leading classification societies. It was founded in 1913. RS activities are focused on improvement of safety standards, safety of life at sea, prevention of environmental pollution. RS is acknowledged by the European Union and it is a member of the International Association of Classification Societies and an associate member of INTERTANKO, INTERCARGO and BIMCO.
