Dmitry Medvedev signs Decree on overall financing of Yamal LNG project

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed a Decree on introduction of amendments into the federal special-purpose programme “Development of Russia’s Transport System (2010–2020)”, RF Government press center says.

According to the Decree, the resources of the federal budget under the Programme are to be reallocated as its target indicators are to be revised.

The project on the construction of port Sabetta on the Yamal peninsula including the creation of an approach canal in the Ob Bay can be fully financed with the reallocated resources, the statement says.

The same Decree introduces amendments into the project on construction of a deepwater port in Baltijsk (Kaliningrad region).

The Decree had been elaborated by the Ministry of Transport.

Yamal LNG project envisages the construction of an LNG plant with annual capacity of 16.5 million tonnes per annum based on the feedstock resources of the South-Tambeyskoye field. According to the PRMS reserve standards, the proven and probable reserves of the South-Tambeyskoye field as of 31 December 2013 were appraised at 927 billion cubic meters of natural gas.

Yamal LNG is currently owned by NOVATEK (60%), TOTAL (20%) and CNPC (20%).
