Operational waters of LPG transshipment complex have been put into operation at port Ust-Luga. Seabed level of the 150,000 m2 area is 13.5 m, press center of Rosmorport FSUE says.
The construction works lasted for three years under the federal special-purpose programme Development of Russia’s Transport System (2010-2015).
The construction customer was Rosmorport FSUE. Over 931,000 cbm of material was excavated during the dredging operations in the southern and northern parts of the port’s water area. Investments of the federal budget totaled RUB 940 mln.
The project was initiated to ensure safe approach to the berths of LPG terminal. Vessels with length of 184 m, width of 32.2 m, deadweight of 47,800 t and loaded draught of 10.8 m can now be handled there, the statement says.
LPG transshipment complex was put into operation in June 2013, its design capacity is 4 mln t. In the 8-month period the terminal handled 2.4 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (liquefied petroleum gas and light oil products).
