M/V Anatoly Sidenko built by Lotos Shipyard (Astrakhan) sets off for her maiden voyage

Astrakhan-based Lotos Shipyard has put in commission M/V Anatoly Sidenko, 7,240-dwt dry cargo carrier of project RSD49, press center of the regional government says. The vessel has set off for her first commercial voyage.

That is the second vessel of the project built by the shipyard. M/V Vladimir Zakharenko, lead vessel of project RSD49 (construction number 301) was laid down by Lotos shipyard on January 27, 2011, launched on February 26, 2013 and delivered on March 21, 2014. RSD49 vessels are so far the largest of dry cargo ships that satisfy the dimensions of Volga-Don Shipping Canal: length - 140 m, cargo holds capacity – 10,900 cbm, sea endurance - 20 days, crew - 10 persons, accommodation - 12. 

Astrakhan-based Lotos Shipyard specializes in the construction of modules for fixed offshore drilling platforms, designed for offshore exploration and production of oil and gas. The shipbuilding company’s major stockholders are United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC), Caspian Energy Group (CNRG) and the Astrakhan regional government.
