Mv. ALL CARGO SUSHEELA a self-sustained 300Teu capacity vessel deployed in this service, made her maiden voyage on 31 August 2014, with full profile cargo load. Deployed feeder in this shuttle service is scheduled to make a weekend and a mid-week call at the port of Colombo, aligning to meet the growing market demands, network expansion, and also to meet VIP customer requirements at both ends, the company said in its press release.
The strategically positioned service will also increase the Colombo-Tuticorin deployed feeder tonnage by 11%, and also expected to contribute further to the Port of Colombo’s annual throughput. This service comes in as the eighth active service for Simatech Shipping over the port of Colombo.
Simatech Shipping contributed to a 4.3% volume share at JCT in the year 2013, now is expected to grow significantly and is expecting to double this share of the State owned/operated Jaya container Terminal in 2014.
Commencement of this service will also announce the opening of Tuticorin’s new Dakshin Bharat Gateway Terminal (DBGT) for container feeder operations.
