  CIMC Raffles launches GM4-D North Dragon Semi-submersible Drilling Rig Lower Hull

  

  The lower hull of GM4-D North Dragon, the 8th semi-submersible drilling rig of CIMC Raffles, was launched successfully on 30thOctober, 2014. Built for NORTHSEARIGS, North Dragon is designed in GM4D Model and CIMC Raffles owns its 80% IPR, the company said in its press release.

  North Dragon is qualified by NMD,NORSOK and NPD and classed by DNV. It’s the first EPC semi-submersible drilling rig domestically that will have a profound effect to the development of CIMC Raffles. The launching is a landmark to the project that the fabrication will step into the next phase. The key work of the project will gradually be transferred to upper hull outfitting and MC etc. in future.
