Baltic Fleet's frigate “Yaroslav Mudry” and tanker "Kola" en route to Malaysia
A Neustrashimy class frigate “Yaroslav Mudry” (Yaroslav the Wise) and tanker "Kola", tasked to ensure the safety of shipping in the Indian Ocean completed a program of official call at the biggest Indonesian port of Jakarta, the Ministry of Defense press office said.
Currently the Baltic Fleet's ships are bound for the shores of Malaysia through the Karimata Strait.
The vessels crews were staying in the Indonesia port from November 5, 2014. During the visit, the "Yaroslav Mudry" attended the INDO Defence-2014 Expo & Forum, which was held in Jakarta November 5-8.
The Russian warship held an open house and was visited by guests and official delegations who attended the expo.
The Yaroslav Mudry departed Baltiysk, the main naval base of the Baltic Fleet on August 9, 2014 and has covered more than 11,000 nm, has visited the Spanish port of Ceuta on the Mediterranean coast of Africa, the port of Valletta in Malta and the port of Karachi, Pakistan.
