TransContainer's box traffic by DVZD up 6% to 395,000TEUs
Russian rail operator TransContainer JSC in January-October 2014 increased container traffic on the Far East Railway (DVZD) network by 6% on the ten-month period of 2013 to 395,000 TEUs, the company said a press release.
For the first ten months of 2014 the Far Eastern Railway stations loaded into 40' HC containers more than 4,580 tonnes of cargo (+ 7% year-on-year). Average daily loading rate for the period was 15,000 tonnes. The average weight of the container was 18,000 tonnes, which is 102% from the same period last year.
In October 2014, rail-borne container traffic in twenty-foot equivalent units rose 2% year-on-year to 41,000 TEUs, or 491,000 tonnes of freight (+ 6%).
