Konecranes CJSC has completed operations on unloading of two RTG cranes from a vessel to the berth of Container Terminal Saint-Petersburg OJSC (CTSP). As IAA PortNews was told at Konecranes, the company’s logistics department fulfilled the required customs clearance procedures parallel to the process of unloading.
It took only one day to execute unloading and customs clearance according to the preliminary approved plan.
RTG cranes feature an improved design of a control cabin and are fitted with a fiber-optic cable reels.
The decision to use fiber-optic cable reels was taken with a long-term vision of automation of these cranes operation.
RTG cranes driven by electric power have numerous advantages: electricity is cheaper than diesel fuel, they require less maintenance, failure probability is lower, there are no emissions, noise pollution level is lower etc.
