Shipbuilding complex at Bolshoi Kamen (Primorsk Territory) will get first orders from Rosneft, press center of the Territory Government says with the reference to the report of Denis Manturov, RF Minister of Industry and Trade, at the meeting headed by Vladimir Putin and dedicated to the construction of a shipbuilding centre at the Far East Zvezda plant.
According to Denis Manturov, the first phase of the construction which is to be completed in 2016 includes the fitting of the workshops. Dry dock construction is the second phase.
“Parallel to this process the shipyard will secure orders. Initially, there will be orders for supply vessels, superstructure of a drilling rig, geological exploration vessels…” Denis Manturov said.
He added that first orders will come from Rosneft, starting from supply vessels to small tankers.
“A shipbuilding cluster in the Far East must become a major production centre building and servicing vessels of various classes, primarily for the domestic market”, Vladimir Putin said at the meeting.
