Murmansk region is open for cooperation with its foreign partners in the sphere of offshore fields development, IAA PortNews journalist cites Aleksei Tyukavin, First Vice-Governor of the region, as saying at the at the 7th International Conference “Arctic Shelf Development: Step by Step” in Murmansk.
In particular, he means the partnership with Statoil representative of which participated in the conference.
Statoil ASA (headquartered in Stavanger, Norway) is an international energy company with operations in 36 countries. Established in 1972, it is the largest company in Norway and the largest oil company in Northern Europe, one of the largest suppliers of crude oil in the global market and the largest supplier of natural gas to the European market. Statoil is the largest operator on the Norwegian continental shelf, with 60% of the total production. The Government of Norway is the largest shareholder in Statoil with 70.9% of the shares. In 2005, Statoil had 25,644 employees.
