Cruiser "Aurora" to leave Kronshtadt Shipyard’s dock and icebreaker “Krasin" to return to permanent mooring on November 26
On November 26, 2014, Cruiser "Aurora" will leave the dock of Kronshtadt Shipyard for further modernization. The same day icebreaker “Krasin will return to the place of the permanent mooring, Lieutenant Shmidt embankment (Saint-Petersburg), IAA PortNews learnt from the shipyard.
The cruiser has undergone underwater repair. The vessel will be placed at the outfitting quay of the shipyard and will return to the dock in spring for final clearing and painting.

Icebreaker Svyatogor (Krasin) is the second Arctic icebreaker of Russia. The icebreaker was built in 1917 in Newcastle for the Imperial Russian Navy.
The Pallada-class 1st rank cruiser "Aurora" was laid down in September 1896 and launched in May 1900. The cruiser's length overall is 126.8 meters, beam - 16.8 meters, draft - 6.4 m. At the time her maximum speed was 19.2 knot, cruising range - about 4,000 nm. When the ship entered service with the Russian Empire Navy her armaments included eight 152 mm (6-inch) guns, 24 x 75 mm guns, eight 37 mm guns and two 63.5 mm guns. In addition, the cruiser had three 381 mm torpedo tubes.
FSUE Kronshtadt Shipyard is a Russian company engaged in repair and maintenance of warships and civil vessels as well as repair of gas-turbine power units and diesel engines, etc. The shipyard founded in 1858 can perform dockside repair of vessels up to 230 meters in length and up to 40,000 t in displacement.
