Throughput of Chinese ports up 10.5% to 10.23 bln t in Jan-Nov’14

In January-November 2014, the ports of China increased their throughput by 10.5%, year-on-year, to 10.23 bln t, the Ministry of Transport of the Government of the People's Republic of China. In the accounting period seaports of China handled 7.06 bln t (+5.7%, year-on-year), river ports - 3.16 bln t (+2.9%).

Container throughput climbed by 5.7% to 148.97 mln TEUs including 134.07 mln TEUs in seaports (+6.6%) and 14.89 mln TEUs in river ports (-2.9%).
