NYK reaches plea agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice regarding ocean shipping services for cars and trucks

On December 2 9th 2014 , Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) entered into a plea agreement with the United States Department of Justice, agreeing to pay a fine of US $59.4 million based on charges that it violated U.S. anti - trust laws in connection with ocean shipping services for cars and trucks. The agreement requires that NYK and its subsidiaries will continue to cooperate fully with the investigation, the company said in its press release.
