In January-December 2014, seaports of Russia handled 618.8 mln t of cargo (+4.9%, year-on-year, press center of Rosmorrechflot (Federal Marine and River Transport Agency) refers to the data of Association of Commercial Sea Ports of Russia.
In particular, transshipment of dry cargo totaled 288.3 mln t (+12.5%), liquid bulk cargo – 330.5 (-0.9%).
Infrastructure development activities were carried out in the following seaports: Sabetta, Murmansk, Big Port St. Petersburg, Ust-Luga, Vysotsk, Kaliningrad, Taman, Temryuk, Novorossiysk, Olya, Vostochny, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
In 2014, the capacity of port facilities in the Russian Federation increase by 22.5 mln t.
Besides, implementation of the following large-scale projects continued in Russia: marine transshipment complex Bronka and Sabetta seaport, the latter in the Arctic Basin of the Russian Federation.
Association of Commercial Sea Ports (ASOP) was founded in 1987. Currently ASOP unites more than 50 Russian organizations and enterprises of maritime transport. The Association includes commercial sea ports, forwarding and agency companies, research institutes and maritime transport schools. The outcome data of the Russian port complex is based on statistical reports, covering all stevedoring companies operating in the country.
