Commission for certification of sea pilots set up at Big Port St. Petersburg

According to the press center of Baltic Sea Ports Authority, special commission has been set up at Big Port St. Petersburg for certification of sea pilots and for interviewing of masters/navigators of vessels involved in costal and international voyages to qualify them for sailing without sea pilots in the Port’s areas subject to obligatory pilotage.

Aleksand Volkov, Harbour Master of the Port, has been appointed the Chairman of the Commission, Aleksandr Kharyuzov, Deputy Harbour Master for Safety, - Deputy Chairman of the Commission. Stanislava Kravchik and Anna Sharykina are the Commission Secretaries. The Commission also includes Yevgeny Turtsev, Vladimir Chernyshev, Yevgeny Ilyin, Aleksandr Vyun, Anatoly Voluzhev and Aleksandr Glebov. Upon approval, the Commission will include a representative of the pilot service of Rosmorport’s North West Basin Branch, representative of SPb Lotsman LLC, representative of Volga-Balt Authority’s pilot service and shipping company representative.

Representative of the Federal Agency for Transport Supervision (under RF Transport Ministry) can also participate in the work of the Commission as well as the experts of Baltic Sea Ports Authority departments. The commission is to consist of at least 7 members.
