Yang Ming launches new container vessel “YM Excellence”
YM Excellence, a 4,662 TEU full-container vessel built for Yang Ming by CSBC CORP., TAIWAN, was named at a ceremony held at CSBC Kaohsiung Shipyard on March 24, 2015.
YM Excellence is the fourth of five 4,662 TEU full-container vessels built for Yang Ming by CSBC CORP. This type of vessel is eco-friendly. The new ship is 259 meters long, 37.3 meters wide. It has 400 reefer plugs and a draft of 12.8 meters. The vessel can cruise at a speed of up to 22.9 knots.
The new generation ships incur lower operational costs and consume less energy. Yang Ming contributes to environmental protection constantly. With the deployment of this new vessel, Yang Ming can provide better and more complete service to customers.
YM Excellence is to be deployed in the CPX Service (China - Pakistan Express ). Her ports of call are in this order: Shanghai–Ningbo–Shekou–Singapore–Karachi–Mundra–Port Kelang–Singapore–Hong Kong–Shanghai.
