In January-March 2015, Russian seaports handled 158.6 mln t of cargo (+8.9%), says press center of Association of Commercial Sea Ports..
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo totaled 65.2 mln t (+3.0%) including 26.4 mln t of coal (+2.4%), 6.9 mln t of ferrous metal (+10.4%), 5.1 mln t of grain (+6.9%), 3.5 mln t of mineral fertilizers (+6.4%), 3.5 mln t of cargoes carried by ferries (up 2 times). Transshipment of containerized cargo fell to 9.7 mln t (-13.3%), ore – to 1.0 mln t (-20.6%).
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo totaled 93.4 mln t (+13.5%) including 51.5 mln t of crude (+8.9%), 37.6 mln t of oil products (+22.1%) and 3.5 mln t of liquefied gas (+4.4%).
Transshipment of export cargo totaled 130.3 mln t (+10.9%, year-on-year), import - 7.9 mln t (-20.1%), transit - 11.5 mln t (-5.9%), coastal trade cargo – 8.9 mln t (up 1.5 times).
Operators of the Arctic Basin terminals handled 8.4 mln t of cargo (-3.0%, year-on-year) including 5.6 mln t of dry cargo (-9.7%) and 2.8 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+14.0%). The port of Murmansk handled 5.3 mln t (-9.5%), Varandei - 1.6 mln t (+11.8%), Arkhangelsk - 1.1 mln t (+8.3%).
The ports of the Baltic Basin handled 56.1 mln t (+8.0%) including 20.2 mln t of dry cargo (-0.5%) and 35.9 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+13.5%). Port Ust-Luga handled 21.0 mln t (+27.0%), Primorsk - 14.6 mln t (+5.4%), Vysotsk - 4.0 mln t (+2.2%), Kaliningrad - 3.3 mln t, Big Port St. Petersburg - 13.0 mln t (-7.6%).
Throughput of Azov - Black Sea ports climbed to 53.0 mln t (+18.5%) including 17.4 mln t of dry cargo (+21.2%), 35.6 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+17.3%). Port Novorossiysk handled 33.1 mln t (+9.9%), Tuapse - 6.5 mln t (+28.4%), Kavkaz - 3.8 mln t (up 2.1 times), Yeisk - 0.8 mln t (+18.9%), Taganrog - 0.7 mln t (+18.3%), Temryuk - 0.7 mln t (up 2 times), Taman - 3.0 mln t (-1.4%), Rostov - 1.8 mln t (-6.3%), Azov - 1.0 mln t (-5.6%).
The ports of the Caspian Basin handled 1.9 mln t грузов (+7.8%) including 0.9 mln t of dry cargo (up 1.6 times) and 1.0 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (-17.5%). Throughput of port Astrakhan increased 1.6 times, Olya - 1.5 times. Port Makhachkala decreased its throughput by 12.8% while transshipment of dry cargo in the port increased by 27.3%.
The ports of Far East Basin handled 39.2 mln t (+1.7%) including 21.1 mln t of dry cargo (-3.6%) and 18.1 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+8.6%). Port Vostochny handled 15.3 mln t (+13.0%), De-Castri - 2.4 mln t (+18.7%), Kholmsk - 0.4 mln t (+10.0%), Nakhodka 4.9 mln t (similar to the previous year result), Vanino - 5.9 mln t (-5.2%), Prigorodnoye - 4.3 mln t (-3.2%), Vladivostok - 3.0 mln t (-21.3%), Posiet - 1.5 t (-3.7%).
Association of Commercial Sea Ports (ASOP) set up in 1987 unites over 50 organizations and enterprises of Russia’s maritime transport. ASOP comprises commercial seaports, forwarding and agency companies, scientific research institutes and marine educational institutions. Operational results of Russian port sector are based on statistics reports and cover all stevedoring companies operating in the Russian Federation.
