Quality management systems to become obligatory for Training Simulator Centers in Russia (photo)

RF Ministry of Transport has elaborated and approved the amendments into the Ministry’s Order dated 15.03.12 No 62 on obligatory introduction of quality management systems by training simulator centers or a separate subdivision of quality management system by educational institutions, IAA PortNews journalist cites Vitaly Klyuev, Russian candidate for the post of IMO Secretary-General, Deputy Director of the Department of State policy for Maritime and River Transport under RF Ministry of Transport, as saying at the III Russian Simulation Forum.

“The document has been submitted to the Minister of Transport for signing. In the nearest future it will be forwarded to the Ministry of Justice for registration,” Vitaly Klyuev said.

Besides, the Charter of the Ministry of Transport has been recently amended to provide the Ministry with the possibility and the right to set requirements on training of instructors, exam administrators and other training personnel of educational institutions and simulation centers in compliance with the requirements of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW).
