On April 10, 2015, OJSC Zelenodolsk Plant Named After M. Gorky laid down the ninth serial small-size missile ships of Project 21631. According to the press center of the shipyard, the ship was named Graivoron by the order of the Commander-In-Chief of RF Navy.
The shipyard is currently building two series of vessels designed by Zelenodolsk Design Bureau (small-size missile ships of Project 21631 and frigates of 11661 project "Gepard - 3.9").
The small-size missile ships of Project 21631 are being constructed at the shipyard since 2010 for the Russian Navy. That is a 'river-sea' class multipurpose corvette. Ships of Project 21631 are equipped with the latest radioelectronics and gun/missile/counter-terror/antiaircraft weapons.
The corvette is intended for protection of the state’s economic zone.
The lead ship of project 21631, Grad Sviyazhsk, and the first and the second serial ships Uglich and Veliky Ustyug have joined the fleet of the Caspian Flotilla. The year of 2015 is to see the delivery of small-size missile ships Zeleny Dol and Serpukhov which have already been launched. Three more ships of the series are under construction at the shipyard today – Vyshny Volochek, Orekhovo-Zuyevo and Ingushetia.
Tatarstan-based OJSC Zelenodolsk Plant named after M. Gorky specializes in the construction of warships and passenger high-speed vessels. The enterprise is managed by AK BARS HOLDING.
