Throughput of Makhachkala Commercial Seaport down 11.2% to 1.11 mln t in QI'15
In January-March 2015, Makhachkala Commercial Seaport handled 1.11 mln t of cargo (-11.2%, year-on-year), the company told IAA PortNews.
Transshipment of crude dropped to 910,000 t (only 82% of the volumes shipped in QI'14).
Transshipment of dry cargo increased by 40% to 200,800 t, ferrous metal- to 100,000 t.
Makhachkala Commercial Seaport is located on the west coast of the Caspian Sea in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia. The port handles crude oil, petroleum products, mineral construction cargo, grain, general cargo and timber. The port links the south of Russia with the states of the Central Asia, Iran, Trans-Caucasian region and other coutries of the area. In 2015 the port operator handled 4.952 million tonnes of cargo (including 5.3 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargoes).
