Russian candidate for IMO top position Vitaly Klyuev to take part in Singapore Maritime Week 2015

Vitaly Klyuev, the first ever Russian candidate nominated for the IMO Secretary General post, will be visiting Singapore from 20 through 23 April to attend major events of Singapore Maritime Week 2015, the candidate's official website said.

On April 21 Mr. Klyuev will take part in the opening ceremony of Sea Asia 2015. Then he will have several meetings with representatives of the Maritime Authority of Singapore.

Besides, Mr. Klyuev will be available for media interviews.

Deputy Director, the Department of State Policy for Maritime and River Transport of Russia's Ministry of Transport Vitaly Klyuev and five other nominees from Cyprus, South Korea, Philippines, Denmark and Kenya will be competing for the IMO leadership. The present incumbent, Mr. Koji Sekimizu, ends his four-year term as Secretary-General on 31 December 2015.

SMW2015 will be held on April 19-24, 2015.
