Port of Gdansk at the VII European Economic Congress
The 7th European Economic Congress was held on 20-22 April in the new International Conference Centre in Katowice. Once again, the Port of Gdansk had the opportunity to present their range of services. Guests at the port town could chat with representatives of the Port of GdanskAuthority SA along with port operators - DCT Gdansk SA, GTK SA, Northern Port Sp. z o.o., GBT Sp. z o.o. and Cargofruit Sp. z o.o. The delegation from the Port of Gdansk Authority SA was led by the CEO Dorota Raben, PGA says in its press release. The Port of Gdansk stand proved to be very popular.
This year's Congress has brought together leading representatives from the world of business, economics, and politics. The main topics of discussion were issues relating to the practical implementation of innovation in the European economy and the dilemmas associated with energy, reindustrialisation as well as climate protection policy.
According to the organization committee, the event was attended by 7,500 people including: The President of the Republic of Poland, four EU Commissioners, six Polish ministers and over 30 secretaries and undersecretaries of state, ministers and deputy ministers of foreign governments and almost 150 CEOs and 50 deputy CEOs of the largest companies, enterprises and institutions from all over the world.
The leading subjects and issues of the seventh edition of the largest business conference in Central and Eastern Europe included: the European Union’s large investment program, the role of state in the economy, innovative Europe, challenges of the global economy, new markets and new directions. Time was also devoted to sharing views and experiences in areas related to industry and the climate as well as responsible business and young participants in the European labour market.
The agenda of the European Economic Congress 2015 included numerous sessions dedicated to individual sectors of the economy and public life such as: energy and raw materials, infrastructure, transport, technologies and people, mining and metallurgy, healthcare, construction and real estate, investments, regional policies, cities, local government and the leisure industry.
