Ceremonial keel-laying of the second vessel in the series of 7000 DWT chemical tankers of Project VHX503 was held on April 28, 2015, at Yangzhou Haichuan Shipyard (China, Jiangsu Province). The vessel will have the class of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, RS says in its press release.
The vessels ordered by Firefinch Investment Ltd. will fly the flag of the Russian Federation. Technical supervision of the construction process is carried out by the inspectors of RS Branch in China. RS Class: КМ✪ Ice1 R2 AUT1 LI VCS IGS-IG BWM(E-F) Oil/chemical tanker type 2 (ESP).
The new chemical tankers are intended for transportation of bulk oil, oil products and hazardous chemicals.
The first vessel in the series launched on April 24, 2015 is to be delivered to the customer in August 2015. The vessel will named after Gabdulla Tukai, famous Tatar poet.
RS has operated in China since the late 1940s and continues to actively develop cooperation with Chinese companies.
Under technical supervision of RS, Damen Shipyards Changde is building tugboats of ASD 3010 Ice and ASD 2609 Ice projects. Two offshore supply vessels of MTD P227 Type constructed to RS class were launched in Keppel Nantong Shipyard (Nantong) in mid-March.
