Rosneft takes delivery of two boom tenders build by Zvezda

On May 21, two oil garbage collecting and boom laying vessels built by Zvezda shipyard were delivered to Rosneft in Nakhodka, the oil company’s release says. The vessels will operate at the oil port of Nakhodka.

Boom tenders are multipurpose vessels intended for operation at the ports’ water areas: oil spill response activities; clearing of water areas; collection of bilge waters from vessels; transportation and laying of booms; transportation of vessels of up to 10 t. Boom tenders are small but complex vessels concentrating much specialized equipment within a limited space, the release says.

Rosneft in partnership with Gazprombank is implementing a project on establishment of shipbuilding and industrial cluster at the facilities of shipbuilding complex Zvezda which is supposed to have a multiplicative effect on a number of related industries.
