Throughput of port Yuzhny (Ukraine) up 8.4% to 20.49 mln t in Jan-May’15
In January-May, 2015, seaport Yuzhny (Ukraine) handled 20,497,000 t of cargo (+8.4%, year-on-year), says Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.
Transshipment of export cargo totaled 15,251,500 t (+ 5.3%), import – 2,505,200 (+ 7.9%), coastal trade cargo – 12,700 (+ 411.2%).
Four of fourteen port operators increased their throughput year-on-year: MTP Yuzhny – from 6,315,900 t to 6,861,100 t (+8.6%), Transinvestservis LLC – from 6,071,900 t to 7,407,000 t (+22.0%), TIS-Mindobriva LLC – from 733,000 to 823,100 t (+12.3%), Delta Wilmar CIS LLC – from 155,900 to 245,400 t (+57.4%).
Coal transshipment totaled 2,561,700 t (+4.1%), ore – 11,138,700 (+18.4%), grain – 3,434,200 t (+7.5%).
Yuzhny port is located at the north-western coast of the Black Sea, in ice-free Maly Adzhalyksky (Grigorievsky) estuary, 30 km from Odessa port. The port’s approach channel is 3 miles long and 18.5 meters deep. The port’s major stevedoring company is the state-owned Commercial Sea Port Yuzhny.
