In January-June 2015, cargo transportation within the area of responsibility of FSI Azov-Don Basin Authority totaled 3,342,000 t (-35.4%, year-on-year), the Authority told IAA PortNews.
The decrease was registered in all sectors: handling of heavy fuel oil fell by 74.1% to 1,203,000 t, sulphur – by 21.8% to 547,000 t, diesel fuel – by 28.6% to 332,000 t, vacuum gasoil – 4 times to 318,000 t, crushed stone – 2.1 times to 168,000 t.
Total turnover of vessels - 2,183 (-30%, year-on-year) including 893 vessels in June.
In June, cargo transportation within the Azov-Don River Basin fell by 30.7% to 1,506,000 t including 1,309,000 t of transit cargo (-30.6%) and 197,000 t of internal turnover (-31.6%).
Azov-Don Basin Authority attributes the decrease to unfavorable weather and low water discharge from water storage basin Tsimlyanskoye.
