Consolidated cargo volumes handled at the ports of China in the first six months of the year increased by 2% compared with the same period a year ago to 5.67 billion tonnes, the PRC Ministry of Transport said.
Freight traffic at sea ports of the country climbed 1.6% to 3.93 billion tonnes, in the river increased by 5% to 1.73 billion tonnes.
Container throughput grew by 6.1% to 102.72 million TEUs, including 92,1 million TEUs (+5.6%) handled at Chinese seaports, and 10.6 million TEUs (+10.5%) transshipped via river ports.
