JSC Mezhregiontruboprovodstroy has been appointed as the sole contractor on construction of the North-Western Ice Barrier and the South-Eastern Ice Barrier (deepwater part) as well as the grounds of the automated radar post for vessel traffic control system at port Sabetta (Yamal). According to the Company, the Government Decree (No 1191-р) was signed on June 26, 2015.
The North-Western and South-Eastern ice barriers are intended for protection of the seaport from the ice floes. Ice barriers will protect the berths involved in shipment of LNG and gas condensate.
The length of the North-Western Ice Barrier (NWIB) is 1,270 m, deepwater part of the South-Eastern Ice Barrier (SEIB) is 773.8 m, total amount of metal required for construction exceeds 40,000 t.
As of today, the Company is implementing certain works under Yamal LNG project. Within the framework of the preliminary phase it is building four berths for handling different types of vessels.
Apart from the berths, the port’s infrastructure facilities have already been built in Sabetta. Uder the state contract with FSUE Rosmorport the Company is also executing works for the construction of the main objects of Sabetta sea port in the part of the south-eastern ice protection structures (the root part in the boundaries). The construction of technological overpass for LNG and gas condensate offloading is secure by the contract between MRTS and Yamal LNG.
