Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg transferred RUB 19 mln for its social programme in HI’2015
Within January-June of 2015 OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (SP SPb) transferred 19 mln rubles for the implementation of the social programme, the Company’s press center says.
Main part of the funds was transferred for assistance to port employees and their families. The company reimbursed expenses for medical services, resort treatment, sport activities and arrangement of summer holidays for children. Single mothers working in the port and employees with many children received monetary allowance.
SP SPb made quarterly and holiday payments dedicated to Day of Lifting of Leningrad Siege, Victory Day and professional holiday of port workers – Day of Workers of Sea and River Fleet – to non-working pensioners and employees who were granted rank “Veteran of Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg”. Heroes of anniversaries and active representatives of Veteran’s organization of the company received additional financial encouragement.
Within the programme on support of children of employees SP SPb traditionally arranged educational excursion. In spring children visited Aquarium where they learned about dwellers of underwater world. After their visit participants received souvenirs and sweets.
SP SPb also supports children from orphanage Nr. 10 of Kirov district of Saint-Petersburg of which port has been a guardian for several decades. As a charity support for this orphanage in the first half of this year SP SPb purchased new furniture and made renovation of bedrooms and play rooms.
In the first half of 2015 monetary funds were transferred for training of personnel. Within this period 209 employees of SP SPb participated in professional development programmes. Besides practical training for students (faculty of port equipment and mechanical faculty) of State University of Sea and River Fleet named after S.O. Makarov being trained in LLC “Sea Recruiting Agency” was arranged at the berths of the port.
OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (included in UCL Port – stevedoring division of the International transportation group UCL Holding) – is the largest operator, rendering services on handling of all types of dry cargoes in the Greater Port of Saint-Petersburg. It operates by modern specialized terminals for handling of ro-ro cargoes, cars and metals. In 2014 the turnover of the company amounted to 8.1 mln tons.
Veterans Council of OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” consists of 859 people, including 9 prisoners of concentration camps, 39 home front workers and 23 participants of Great Patriotic War.
LLC “Sea Recruiting Agency” – recruiting company representing interests of transport logistic, construction and other companies of North-Western region in sphere of recruiting, training and provision of temporary personnel. SRA was established in 2001 and is a subsidiary company of OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg”.
Agency has its own Training Centre with all technical means for primary training, re-qualification and advanced training on the basis of various educational programmes.
