At the meeting held on August 5, 2015 at the Leningrad Region Government, Yury Dekhtyaruk, Head of Krylov State Research Center’s Division for Projected Development of Civil Shipbuilding, presented three scenarios for the development of regional shipbuilding cluster.
According to the press center of the Leningrad Region Government, one of the scenarios implies establishment of numerous component manufacturers which is to have a positive influence on the activities in the part of import substitution. The second scenario is focused primarily on the support of Arctic development and on the development of small shipbuilding. The third scenario is based on the development and expansion of cooperation of shipbuilding enterprises of the Leningrad Region and Saint-Petersburg, establishment of machine-building and personnel training centers.
Major shipbuilding enterprises of the Leningrad Region are: Vyborg Shipyard (Vyborg), Leningrad Shipyard Pella (Otradnoye, Kirovsk District), Nevsky Shipyard (Shlisselburg), Svir Shipyard (Nikolsky, Podporozhje District), Burevestnik (Gatchina), Krizo (Gatchina), Zavod Ladoga (Kirovsk).
