Resources allocated for construction of railway ramp to be redirected to ferry berth at Kerch service
RF Ministry of Transport has commenced elaborating a draft governmental decree aimed at redirecting the resources from construction of the second railway ramp at port Kerch (Crimea) to construction of a car ferry boat.
According to the federal portal of regulatory legal acts, on April 30 RF Government approved allocation of RUB 479 mln from the federal budget to Rosmorrechflot for inter-budget transfers in favour of Crimean budget for reconstruction of car and rail ferry link at the port of Kerch (Decree No 738-r).
Under the transfer Rules approved by RF Government on May 15, 2014 (Decree No 448), the resources were to be used in particular for the construction of the second ramp for loading/unloading of cars and wagons as well as for other activities at Kavkaz-Kerch ferry link.
Taking into consideration that the problem of cargo transportation to Crimea has been generally solved, the priority was put on construction of the second car ferry berth by 2016 (including required dredging) while the construction of the second railway ramp can be financed by off-budget resources through private-public partnership.
