The Caspian Flotilla staff and ship grouping is holding a tactic exercise under the leadership of the Flotilla Commander Rear Admiral Igor Osipov, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
The ship grouping, including 20 combat ships, motor boats and support vessels, is practicing to provide protection of civil sailing and naval economics in the Caspian water zone.
Crews of the Caspian Flotilla are also improving cooperation with border units of the Russian Federal Security Service in providing security and protection of inner water ways and coastal zone of the Caspian Sea.
The ship grouping will practice air defence issues in cooperation with the Southern MD aviation at the final stage of the exercise.
The exercise with the Caspian Flotilla ships will be finished at the end of the week.
