RF Navy’s Kaluga submarine returns to her home base after long-range trip
Yesterday, the Northern Fleet Kaluga submarine came back to home base after a long-range trip, says press center of RF Defence Ministry. According to the report of Captain second rank Sergei Pirozhenko, all tasks have been successfully completed, submarine materiel was operative, and the personnel were healthy and ready to perform new tasks in the sea.

Diesel-electric project 877 submarine Kaluga was put into service in 1991 and made a part of the Northern Fleet. Submarines of this project are one of the silent ones. They were designed in order to counteract surface ships and submarines, installing mine obstacles in the sea, and reconnaissance.
