In January-September 2015, port Kavkaz handled 19,083,000 t (+54.2%, year-on-year), Harbour Master of port Kavkaz Yevgeny Tuzinkevich told IAA PortNews.
Off-harbour transshipment complex handled 8,919,000 t (+5.5%).
Transshipment of oil products is almost flat (+0.7), grain – up 45.5% to 2,813,000 t, sulphur and mineral fertilizers – down 2.1 times to 1,180,000 t, LPG – down 2.5 times to 148,000 t.
Exports from port Kavkaz dropped by 32.1%, year-on-year, to 651,000 , imports – by 12.8% to 327,000 t, while transshipment of coastal trade cargo surged 4.4 times to 8,821,000 t.
Bunker sales at the port dropped by 34.5% to 363,300 t.
Passenger turnover jumped by 83% to 4,068,294 passengers.
The number of calls increased by 37.8% to 15,724 calls.
Port of Kavkaz is situated between the Azov and the Russian Black Sea coast. The depth of 4.5 meters allows for handling river boats and seagoing ships (off the harbour). The port’s facilities are intended for handling bulked cargoes (mineral fertilizers, concentrates of various ores, grain) as well as general, timber, and containerized goods. In 2014, the port handled 10.17 mln t of cargo.
