In January-September 2015, Taganrog Commercial Seaport OJSC handled 1.1 mln t of cargo (+29%, year-on-year), the stevedoring company says in its press release.
The company attributes the increase to an increasing demand for the port’s major cargoes and to high yield of grain.
Transshipment of general cargo increased by 24% to 403,000 t, metal and tubular goods – up 50% to 347,000 t, big-bags – down 2.5 times to 16,000 t, liquid bulk cargo – up two times to 120,000 t, dry bulk and loose cargo – up 23% to 587,000 t including 425,500 t of coal (+28%) and 144,000 t of grain (+20%). Transshipment of ore fell by 23% to 17,500 t.
The company’s container throughput totaled 3,100 TEUs (-43%, year-on-year).
In the reported period, Taganrog Commercial Seaport handled 947,000 t of export cargo, 36,000 t of import cargo, 127,000 t of coastal trade cargo (85%, 3% and 12% accordingly).
In the reported period, the company handled 14,857 railcars and 275 vessels.
Taganrog Commercial Seaport OJSC is a key stevedoring company of the Taganrog port. The major shareholder of Taganrog Commercial Seaport OJSC is UCL Port, stevedoring division of the International transportation group UCL Holding which controls a number of stevedoring assets in the South and North West of Russia. In 2014, Taganrog Commercial Seaport handled 1.16 mln t of cargo.
