Cargo transportation within Azov-Don River Basin down 37.6% to 8.068 mln t

As of November 1, 2015, cargo transportation within the area of responsibility of FSI Azov-Don Basin Authority totaled 8.068 mln t (-37.6%, year-on-year), the Authority told IAA PortNews.

Transportation of heavy fuel oil fell 2,818,000 t, sulphur — by 24.6% to 1,192,000 t, diesel fuel – by 16.5% to 916,000 t, vacuum gasoil —3.5 times to 860,000 t, crashed stone —2.7 times to 347,000 t.

Total turnover of vessels - 6,228 (-14%, year-on-year).

In October, cargo transportation within the Azov-Don River Basin fell 47%, year-on-year, to 1.040 mln t. Transportation of heavy fuel oil accounted for 31.2%, sulphur - 19.1%, diesel fuel - 13%, vacuum gasoil – 8.8%, wheat – 5.2%.

Total turnover of vessels in October – 1,002 units including 510 units going down the river and 492 units – up the river (against 979 units a year ago: 474/505 accordingly).

Total length of waterways within the area of responsibility of FSI Azov-Don Basin Authority is 691.3 km.
