In January-October 2015, seaport of Azov handled 8,192,000 t of different cargo (-24.5%, year-on-year), the port Harbour Master Vladimir Bragin told IAA PortNews.
In the reported period, transshipment of grain fell by 1.7% to 4,393,000 t, oil products – by 47.1% to 2,755,000 while coal transshipment increased by 29.7% to 488,000 t.
The number of incoming/outgoing ships fell to 3,559 / 3,553 in 10M’15 against 4,285 / 4,292 in 10M’14.
In October, the port’s throughput excluding transit increased by 10.7%, year-on-year. In the 10-month period it fell by 4.9%, Vladimir Bragin said. The Harbour Master attributes the decrease to reduction of oil products transit from inland water ways.
Sea port Azov is located in the mouth of river Don.
