Throughput of port Odessa (Ukraine) up 7.8% to 21.2 mln t in 10M’15

In January-October 2015, Odessa Commercial Sea Port handled 21,229,500 t of cargo (+7.8%, year-on-year), says the press center of Odessa commercial sea port.

Transshipment of dry cargo increased by 13.4% (+2.151,000 t), liquid bulk cargo -  fell by 16.8% (-611,500 t).

In the reported period, transshipment of grain totaled 6,903,900 t, rolled ferrous metal – 5,292,100 t, containers – 4,293,700 t.
Odessa Commercial Sea Port operates in one of the largest ports of the Black-Azov Sea Basin. Technical facilities of the port allow handling of more than 14 million tonnes of dry cargoes and 24 million tonnes of liquid cargoes annually. The port’s passenger terminal accepts vessels of up to 300 meters in length. In 2014, throughput of Odessa Commercial Sea Port climbed by 6.1%, year-on-year, to 24.5 mln tonnes.
