Khalifa Port, the flagship of Abu Dhabi Ports―the master developer, operator and manager of ports and industrial zones in the Emirate―has won “Port of the Year” Award of the Maritime Standard Awards, the company said in its press release.
This is the second consecutive year Abu Dhabi Port has won the Port of the Year Award. This year’s Award honoured Khalifa Port, a world-class state-of-the-art port and first semi-automated port in the region for its outstanding achievements during this year.
The Top 120 World Container Ports ranking listed KPCT as the third fastest growing container port in the world and the fastest growing port in the Middle East based on its 26 per cent volume growth in 2014.
Khalifa Ports is also integrated with Khalifa Industrial Zone (Kizad), providing excellent supply chain connections and efficiencies.
Over the last year, Abu Dhabi Ports has invested significantly in technology, world-class infrastructure and innovative services to enhance its customer experience.
The second Annual Maritime Standard Awards was held at Atlantis The Palm in Dubai under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Airports; President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority; Chairman and CEO of Emirates Group.
