Icebreaker fleet of Rosmorport’s Azov Basin Branch ready for winter navigation season (photo)

The fleet of icebreakers of Rosmorport’s Azov Basin Branch is ready for winter navigation season of 2015-2016, IAA PortNews correspondent cites Sergei Ivanov, Deputy Director for Operations of Rosmorport’s ABB, as saying at the regional meeting on organisation of sustainable icebreaker escort services in Russian seaports of the Azov Sea in winter period of 2015-2016.

According to Sergei Ivanov, Kapitan Demidov, Kapitan Chudinov, Kapitan Moshkin and Kapitan Krutov icebreakers were put into operation and underwent all necessary classification and inspection  procedures on November 1-5.

During the internavigation season, the icebreakers underwent scheduled maintenance and repairs at different ship repair yards in the region.

The icebreaker fleet layout will not be changed for this season except for replacement of 1,600 h.p tugboat Tekhflotets (draught – 3.4 m) which used to operate in Yeisk with 750 h.p. multi-purpose ship Fanagoria (tugboat/icebreaker/rescue ship). Tugboat Tekhflotets will operate in Rostov-on-Don.
