Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center to build two multi-functional ice class ships costing RUB 11.5 bln each for Rosneft

Igor Sechin, Chairman of Rosneft’s Management Board, and Vladimir Tsybin, Acting Director General of Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center, have signed contracts for supply of two multi-functional ice class ships. According to the official website for state procurement, initial (maximum) price of one contract is RUB 11.5 bln.

The ships are to be supplied by September 30, 2019.

Under the contracts, the ships, their shipboard installations, equipment and fitting should meet the requirements of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.

The contract comes into forces when approved by the governing boards of both parties.

The Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center (FESRC) comprises the main ship repair and shipbuilding facilities located in the Far Eastern Federal District including Dalzavod (Vladivostok), Zvezda (Bolshoi Kamen), North-East Repair Center (Vilyuchinsk). The Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center activities are based on the ongoing strategy for developing the shipbuilding industry in the Russian Federation.

The ultimate goal of FESRC is to pull together the efforts of the shipyards within a single integrated structure, to enhance their competitiveness and operational efficiency, and to achieve its vision of being a trusted partner of the Russian government.
